V much better tone prevailed in the store eheep and lamb market at the Addington sale today because of the improved feed prospects resulting from last week's copious rains. Store ewes were dearer by up to 2/- a head aud medium rape lambs by 1/6. The demand for all classes of ewes was keen, coarse-woolled two-tooths making from 26/_ to 32/6. Best lambs ranged from 17/6 to 20/-. Fat lambs sold at up to full schedule rates, exporters operating steadily. A small entry of fat wethers resulted in this class improving in value by 1/6 to ’-/- a head Good and medium ewes were a shade firmer, but export sorts were unchanged. Company buyers bought a fair proportion. Best wethers sold at 2i/- to 32/-, tops to 36/-. medium 23/- to 2b/-: best ewes 19/-_to 23/-, tops to 2i/-, export ewes 11/. to 15/-. The market was oversupplied with tat cattle, and except for a small proportion of light young prime cattle the sale was from par to a shade weaker. I rune iignt sorts were a shade dearer.
