Late rates were easily maintained. A moderate entry ot cows and lieii'ers sold Irccly at verv linn late rates. Extra choice oxen made 39/- a hundred pounds, choice and prime 30/* to ,»S.' ; sccoudaiy anti plain, i"/- to 31/-: extra prime young cow and belter beet', 30/- to 31/-; choice and prime, 27/- to 29/-; ordinary cow beef, 22/- to 20/-; extra heavy prime steers realized *lll/10/- to *ll5/17/6; heavy, 1113 to £l4 7.0: lighter, *212 to £l2/15/-; light, LIO to £ll/15/-; small and unfinished, £8 to £9/11'/-: extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £lO/10/- to £l2; heavy, to £lO/5/-; lighter, £7/12/0 to £B/10/-: light .£0 to £7/10/-; other killable cows. £3/10/- to £5/15/-. An average entry of wethers sold under strong competition at rates which improved on last week’s. Good quality ewes sold on a level with last week, but heavy sorts were easier. Extra heavy prune wethers made 29/- to 31/-; heavy, 2(/to 28/-; medium, 25/- to 20/-: light, _o/0 to 24/6; plain and unfinished, 21/- to b: 1 extra heavy prime young and maiden ewes, 15/- to IS/6; heavy prime ewes. 13/- to 14/-: lighter, 11/6 to 12/6: plain aud aged. 9/- to 10/6; others, 2/- to 7/6. Firm late rates were brought by a good entry of lambs, which sold freely. Extra hcavv prime sorts brought 26/- to 27,m; heavy. 24/6 to 25/6: medium, 22/- to 23/6; lighter, IS/6 to 21/-; light, 16/- to 17/6; small and plain, 10/- to 15/6; cull, 6/- to O/ The market was over supplied with an extra large yarding of calves, values being lower at the start of the sale and later easing further. Runners sold for £4/10/- io £7/17/6: heavy vealers, £4/15/- - to £5/15/-; medium, £3/15/- to £4/10/-: light, £3 to £3/12/-: small, £l/1/- to £- 15''-: unfinished and bucket-fed, £1 to £l/18/-; bobby and rough, 7/- to IS/-. An increased entry of pigs sold steadi.y and values for all classes were fully firm. Choppers made £3/7/- to £5/11/-; heavy baconers, £4/11/- to £4/15/-: medium. £4/3/- to £4/6/-; light. £3/14- to £3 19/-: heavy porkers. *43/4/- to £3/8/-: medium. £2/15/- to £2/19/- light, £2_'.> - to £2/S/-; small and unfinished. £l/16/to £2/3/-: stores. £l/9/- to £l/17/-; slips, 15/- to 23/-: weaners, 8/- to 14/-.
