RUGBY, February 17. A Royal Air Force (Middle East i communique states: — ■‘Aerodromes Ju Sicily were attacked by the R.A.F. on the night of February 15-IG. Hangars and administrative buildings at Catania were bombed, causing heavy fires and a number of explosions. Some aircraft on tlie ground were set on lire. At Comiso bombs fell on dispersed aircraft, resulting in fires and a series of explosions. One fire burned fiercely for more than half an hour. The aerodrome at Gela was also attacked, direct bits being scored on hangars. ■‘Having completed this raid, our aircraft on tlie return journey machinegunned a station at Cape Jassero. On the same night the Brindio aerodrome was attacked. Several hangars were set: on fire near an aerodrome opposite Lazaretto Island. Three enemy aircraft on the ground and one seaplane were set on fire and destroyed.”
