LONDON, February 17
A review of Italy’s position given in the German newspaper, “Frankfurter Zeitung,” states: “The war has brought disappointment and heavy losses to our ally. For the first time Italy has been made aware of the fact that warfare against a powerful enemy presents a series of defeats as well as successes. They will continue until the victory is assured by Hie more powerful side." "The colonial front of Italy has been greatly weakened.” the paper says. Considerable losses in men and material have frequently been'admitted by the military communiques.
It adds: “Even if England occupies Tripoli, it does not necessarily mean that Italy will lose the war.’’
