HOME GUARD AUXILIARY
Au auxiliary to the Home Guard work in Waverley in which local women lune taken a leading part, is the establishment of an emergency hospital with 2(1 beds, full staff of nurses. V.A.D.'s. domestics, and a motor unit of 12 lorries, each driven by a qualified Red Cross worker. The hospital is located at the Waverley Hall where there are facilities for 19 more beds. The whole effort is one of lhe most outstanding in the North Island.
Garden Party Next Week. Next Wednesday is the date now planned for the Victoria League's garden party, weather permitting. It was to have been hold this afternoon, but as part of the grounds were under water yesterday morning it was decided to postpone it. ns even with a line day today there would be considerable dampness underfoot.
