Effort To Secure Call At Wellington The Wellington City Council last night decided'to . support representations to be made by the Chamber of Commerce to have passenger vessels plying between New Zealand and Australia call at Wellington on alternate trips. At present such vessels go only to Auckland. “Every effort will be made by the north to retain the services, and unless some strong action is taken Yelling ton will have no direct passenger service while (lie war lasts,” said Cr. M. F. Lui-kie.
