JOHANNESBURG RIOT
Many Injured When Police Charge (Received February 2, 10.35 p.m.) JOHANNESBURG, February 1. More than 70 wer e injured, including 60 soldiers, when the police made a baton charge on rioters following a clash between loyalists and members of the Ossewabraudwag, whose leader, Dr. Van Rensburg, previously addressed a meeting. Loyalist organizations after the meeting appealed to the Government to ban the Ossewabrandwag, and the clash then occurred, the solGiers, it is alleged, using their strap buck! e.s.
