MISSION FROM AUSTRALIA
Mutual War Problems NEW ZEALAND VISIT IN MARCH (Received February 2, 7 p.m.) CANBERRA, February 1. The Federal Government has decided to send a delegation to New Zealand to confer with the Dominion Government on mutual war problems. The delegation, which will leave Sydney by flying-boat about the middle of next month, will be led by the Assistant Minister, Mr. Anthony. The other delegates have not yet been announced, but they will probably be another Cabinet Minister and two departmental officials, including a high officer of the Department of Commerce. The Commonwealth Government believes that the visit will be of outstanding value, not only in co-ordinating important aspects of the Empire’s war programme as a whole, but also in providing an opportunity for an exchange of information on methods of production that have been successfully developed in both countries. The mission will also discuss the shipping position and other export problems. It is emphasized that the visit will not be in any way connected with trade questions.
