TECHNICAL COLLEGE
Grant For Extension Of Grounds An announcement that Cabinet had approved a grant for the purchase of land in Taranaki Street for an extension of the grounds of the Wellington Technical College was made on Saturday by the Prime. Minister, Mr. Fraser. He said that the Minister of Education, Mr. Mason, and himself had been impressed with the fact that the Technical College was very inadequately provided with grounds and was seriously handicapped in this respect. The completion of purchase of the laud was possible only through tlie cooperation of the Post and Telegraph Department, which recently acquired a number of sections in that area for departmental use, said the Prime Minister. However, the Postmaster-Gen-eral, Mr. Webb, and the Director-Gen-eral. of the Post ami. Telegraph Department, Mr. J. G. Young, had facilitated the negotiations. Tlie new site would be a valuable addition to the Technical College property.
