NEW BUILDING
North Otago Centennial Memorial (By Telegraph—Press Association.) OAMARU, February 1. North Otago’s Centennial memorial Plunket and women's rest rooms were officially opened by the Minister of Health, Mr. Nordmeyer, this afternoon. The building is erected in Oamaru stone and cost £6OOO, which was raised by public subscription from residents of Oamaru and North Otago, contributions from the Oamaru Borough Council and the Waitaki County Council, with a Government subsidy. It is a splendid memorial to the early settlers of the district. Congratulations to residents were received from the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Parry. The Pioneers’ Hall, adjunct to the main building, was officially opened by Mr. G. L. Grenfell, president of the North Otago Early Settlers’ Association.
