Y.M.C.A. WORKER IN LONDON
Wellington Woman In Uniform News has been, received of Mrs. Morris Fossey, Wellington, who is doing her share ot' war work in London. She is now on the staff of the New Zealand Y.M.C.A. in a responsible secretarial position. A fel-low-worker is Mrs. A. I’. F. Chapman, who, earlier, with her husband, ran a canteen for troops. Both women are in uniform and in fact, are the only uniformed New Zealand women workers of the Y.M.C.A. in London. For this reason they chose to make a distinction in their uniforms, which are of a lighter shade of grey than Hie usual, with forage caps instead of felt caps. They wear navy accessories and there is a touch of red piping about the jackets and caps.
The work varies from canteen duties to big-scale organizing, and milch of it consists of billeting men with country hosts and hostesses for week-ends, where they are given a wonderful time.
