PACIFIC AIR FREIGHT
Tasman Service Overtaxed SYDNEY, December 20. Because the passenger bookings for the transtasman flying service are so heavy, packages from Egypt and Java addressed to the United States are being seriously held up in Sydney. A “bottle-neck” has developed, and many parcels cannot be carried to Auckland to connect with the Clipper for San Francisco. Last week a record load of about 60 parcels for the United States arrived in Sydney from the East by Dutch airliner. Yesterday's Dutch airliner brought more than 30 packages. The parcels will either be sent from Sy'dney by ship, or will be re-routed back to Batavia, and then to Manila by air. to connect with the North Pacific Clipper service. Passengers and mails have priority on the Tasman service.
