Year’s Deliveries To Britain MARKED INCREASE expected (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) WASHINGTON, Dec. 26. Officials said that the United States in 1940 sent to Britain about 1500 planes, though the Royal AitForce also got probably half of 500 which went to Canada. This estimate is based on export statistics showing that 1146 aircraft, all believed to be military planes, were sent to Britain in the first eight months of 1940.

Officially, exports iu the year ended October 31. 1940, were:- To Britain, 938 land planes with engines, 12 without engines, and 72 unassembled; to Canada. 354 powered planes, 61 unassembled. and seven seaplanes; to all countries. 2778 powered land planes and 71 mi tins engines. The United Press says unofficially that details of exports to Britain in the first live months of 19-10 were 27 planes a month, in June 97, July 173, August 278, September 136, October 177, and November 193. It is conceded that deliveries were smaller than anticipated lint the decline was due to changing designs and types. It is predicted that there will be a marked acceleration early in 19-11.
