Christmas Speeches By
Hitler

According to the German news agency, Herr Hitler made Christmas speeches to the fighting forces in the Western positions in a tour winch commenced Oii Monday and ended today. The places visited included Boulogne and Abbeville, and he was accompanied bv his closest collaborators. .Speaking to his .8.8. bodyguard, Hitler said: “I do not know what your fate will be, men of the bodyguard, but I know you will be iu the front line in every action. As long as I have the honour to lead the fight as head ot the Reich it will be an honour for you to bear my name and stand at the head of this battle.” He concluded, “Heil, bodyguard 1” . ~ In a speech to the fighter wing he declared, “What you have done in the past year was considered, hardly possible, even by old soldiers.” Another Berlin source reports that Hitler told his soldiers: “A better and more beautiful Germany will come from the war.”
