Fostering Export Trade PRICES NOT EXCESSIVE By Telegraph —Press Assn. —Copyright. LONDON, February 9. Addressing 2000 representatives of the wool textile industry at Bradford, Si Harry Shackleton. Wool Controller explained many of the actions ot the M 00l Control, replied to criticisms, and dispelled a number of misconceptions. He reiterated the control’s intention to foster the export trade as much as possible, even to the detriment of the civilian home business. Incidentally, Sir Harry Shackleton mentioned experiments being made tor the introduction of merino wool into service cloth to allow more crossbreds to be released for other essential needs. He said he was satisfied the prices it was intended to charge in the next rationing period were justifiable on the cost price of the raw material, plus expenses. He maintained that the prices were not excessivp.
