COMPLAINTS ABOUT BEHAVIOUR
Ewart Hospital Inmates
“Complaints have been received about the behaviour of certain inmates at Ewart Hospital and this is supported by letters from the tuberculosis officer and sister in charge of Ewart,” reported the superintendent (Dr. A. R. Thorne) to the Wellington Hospital Board on Thursday. He added that after these complaints he discharged three patients who were absent without leave and admitted them to the Seddon shelters pending the committee’s decision as to future action. If some disciplinary action was not taken, the whole discipline of Ewart would soon be upset.
