Australian.; Who Will Be Present WELLIN GTON MEET IN G S Arrangements for the tenth Austra-lian-New Zealand cancer conference, to be*held in Wellington from February 15 to February 18. 1939, were carried further at a meeting of the central committee of the New Zealand branch of the British Empire Cancer Campaign yesterday. A letter from the Australian Department of Health stated that by November 24 19 persons had indicated their intention of attending the conference from Australia. The folio-wing delegates had indicated that they would be present: — From Queensland: Dr. L. M. McKillop, Dr. E. W. Casey. Dr. V. McDowall, Dr. S. W. Mason, Mr. T. L. Jones, chairman of the Brisbane and South Coast Hospitals Board. New South Wales: Dr. F. A. Macguire, Dr. E. M. Moleswo'rth, Dr. 11. J. Ham, Dr. C. de Monchaux, Dr. R. A. Gardner, Dr. B. T. Edye, president of -the New South Wales branch of the British Medical Association. Victoria: Dr. J. O'Sullivan, Dr. R. R. Wet-tenhall, Dr. T. F. Ryan. Tasmania: Dr. B. Carruthers, Dr. W. I’. Holman. Commonwealth: Dr J H. L. Cumpston, Dr. M. J. Holmes, Dr. C. E. Eddy. Possibly Dr. R. Kaye Scott, Melbourne, would attend. , The following bodies had indicated that they would be represented, but had not announced who their delegates would be: —The University of Sydney Cancer Research Committee, the Royal Australian College of Surgeons, the Anti-Cancer Council of Victoria, the Royal Melbourne Hospital, and the “Medical Journal of Australia.’ The conference will be opened by a Minister of the Crown, and Sir James Elliott, chairman of the central committee of the New Zealand branch of the British Empire Cancer Campaign, will preside. Tapers are to be read byDr. Edy-e, Dr. Holman. Dr. L. M. McKillop, and' Dr. Ham, from among the Australian visitors, and by Mr. J. A. Strong, Christchurch, Dr. D. Mackenzie, Auckland, Mr. D. Robb, Auckland, Professor E. F. D’Ath, Dunedin, and Dr. H. P. Pickerill, Wellington. Others also may read papers. Dr. Maguire has indicated his willingness to give a public address.
