Appointmenl Proposed
The Wellington Technical Uoilcgc Board is proposing to appoint student teachers in physical education, according to advice received by the Hutt \ alley High School Board of Governors last night.
T!te course of training will include
Theory: Anatomy, pbysioligy. hygiene, tirsr aid ami home nursing, patuology. school remedial exercises, tabic-making, gymnastics, titeory of athletics, ami sports events, tennis, cricket, basketball. Lom>ey. swimming, ami indoor games. Practical: l-’irsL aid, .school remedial exercises with hospital experience, tem-liing and performing of gymnastics, coaching, iimpning ami playing of tennis, cricket, basketball and hockey, indoor games, swimming (student must gain bronze and ins’trui.tor’s certificates), performing and teaching Greek, national, country and balltoom dancing. Physical soundness is required, and Hie academic qualifications are possession ol a higher leaving certilicate, including a training in chemistry, biology, or home science up to the slamlard of the univer ■sity entrance examination. gaiiics- will be an additional qualification. The minimum age is 17. The allowance payable is £7O a year, and if ihe Huuclit be obliged to live away from home, a boarding allowance ot £3O annually is payable.
