ANNUAL BALL

For Ngoio Kindergarten

The regret that an "annual” ball comes only once a year was expressed on all sides after the ball organised by the combined committees of the Ngaio Kindergarten. The hall presented a charming appearance with pastelshaded streamers of pink, green, blue and yellow radiating from the centre of the ceiling. These colours were also repeated in the balloons clustered on the stage. J3uge bowls of'bamboo and wattle were banked, on the stage, and the black stage curtains showed these to advantage. An excellent orchestra kept dancing going to the very last minute and several novelty dances were also introduced into the programme. A charming exhibition of tap-dancing was given by six pupils of Miss Marjorie Newport, who was presented with a shoulder spray from the committee. Home-made supper was later served by members of the combined committees. Among those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Gidall, Mr. and Mrs. Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Goatham, Mr. and Mrs. Greer, Mr. and Mrs. Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Wakelin, Mesdames MeGill-Nutt, Livermore, Orwin, Sutherland, Sa-lton, Leggett, Moffatt and Miss Hoby.
