ALL BLACKS HURT IN ROAD SMASH

Car Overturns Near

Canberra

(Received August 10. 1.10 a.m.) Sydney, August 9. It is reported from Canberra to-night that a large car carrying several All Blacks and two referees overturned 15 miles from the capital city. The New Zealanders Taylor and Saxton received bruises. Taylor will be unable to play against Canberra to-morrow but it is hoped that both will be fit enough to play in the third Test on Saturday. None of the other occupants of the car was hurt. The Australian Test team had strenuous training at Sydney to-day. Carpenter, who is suffering from leg soreness did not participate. Rankin, who played so well in the second Test, pulled a muscle, which will probably keep him out of the third Test. The Queenslander Monti was compelled to withdraw from next Saturday’s game, F. Hutchinson, who played well in the first Test, replacing him.
