QUEEN CARNIVAL SUGGESTED
Funds For Centenary
Memorial
The executive committee set up by Hutt Valley local bodies to consider ways and means of advancing the I’ctone foreshore centenary memorial proposal met recently and decided that a queen carnival covering the whole.of the dintrict was one excellent method of appeal that should result in raising fl substantial sum toward the memorial.
■ It was suggested that the following five queens should be run:—Summer Sports, Winter Sports, Returned Soldiers'. Associations, Industries, Commerce- and ’Local Bodies. The, various clubs and organisations who would be thus represented have been invited to attend a meeting on August 3.
