RUGBY TO-DAY

Double Attraction At Athletic Park

A good bill of fare, has been provided for Rugby patrons in Wellington to-day. At Athletic Park the main fixture, the senior A first division match. 'Wellington v. Wellington College Old Boys, will be preceded by a senior second division and senior B representative trial. The purpose of this is to enable outstanding players in these grilles to prove their claims to higher honours, especially in view of the fact that Wellington will have two representative teams in action this year. Wellington College Old Boys have been enjoying a run of successes in the second round of the first division championship, hm are rapidly overhauling Wellington, who are well up. The latter club put up a great fight against the leaders, I’oneke, a fortnight ago, their fast-moving backs delighting the spectators. Old Boys play the same type of game, and the two packs of forwards arc well matched in weight and speed. The Old Boys pack is in great heart since the experienced J. Lamason came out. to lend them, and the backs, though thev will not have the services of Alan Wright, the All Black winger, should match the Wellington rearguard in speed and cleverness. This game will begin at 2.45 p.m., and the representative trial at. 1.15 p.m.

On the Petone Oval the home team will meet Marist Brothers’ Old Boys, and the Hutt team will be at home to St. Patrick’s Old Boys.
