Coming-Of-Age Dance

Mr. 11. AV. Jones, Hutt Road. Petone, assisted by his mother, gave a twenty-first birthday dance in honour of his son, Mr. K. Jones, at the Eva Draper studio. Lower Hutt, recently. Mrs. Jones wore a frock of grey chenille velvet, and Miss Betty Jones, sister of Mr. K. Jones, who assisted in receiving the guests, wore a smart evening frock in delicate shades. The masters-of-cere-mony were Mr. D. Hunter and Mr. A. ■Hughes. Miss Jackson-Hughes gave a pianoforte solo. Mr. Jones announced the engagement of his son, Kenneth, to Miss Eva Paulin. Kindergarten Dance To-night. Arrangements have been completed fot a dance which is to be held to-night in the Horticultural Hall, Lower Hutt, to assist the funds of the Lower Hutt Free Kindergarten. Mrs.. J.. AV. Andrews, chairman of the committee, is the convener, and Miss Tiora Meadows secretary. Mr. G. R. Cowie will be the M.C. An attractive feature will be the RaiuIwv AValtz Ballet, the members of which have been trained by Miriania Heketer. The girls taking part are Misses M:iv Martin, Joan Stoupe, Lois Mair, Joan Burrell, Betty Tresseder, Evelyn Simmons, Audrey Sargisson and May Whitmore.
