DOMINION PIPE BAND CONTEST

Further Arrangements Made Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, March 25. Further arrangements for the Dominion Pipe Band contest to be held at Palmerston North at Easter, were made at a meeting of the executive this week. It was decided that two street marches would be held, one on each day of the contest, and that prize money of £5 would be awarded to the winning band on each day. The following times were settled for the start of the street marches: Saturday, April 16, 1.30 p.m.; Monday, April 18, 12.45 p.m. It was reported that a cup had been donated, and it was decided to award it to the best set of drums during the contest. An independent judge for this event is to be appointed. Inquiries are to be made from the mayor whether it will be possible to obtain suitable decorations throughout the city during the contest week. A reply was received from Mr. G. M. Telfer, accepting the invitation to present the trophies on Easter Saturday night
