MIDLAND COUNTIES

Meeting Of Association A meetlhg of the Wellington branch. of the Birmingham and Midland Counties Association was held recently, the president, Mr. J. H. Whittaker, occupying the chair. Interesting correspondence was read from the Auckland association, which will hold its third birthday celebration next month, and reported a membership roll of 150. The hope was expressed among members that similar succession would attend the efforts of the Wellington association over this period and that a spirit of friendly rivalry would continue. Six new members were enrolled. A. report on the activities of the Combined County Association in connection with St. George’s Day (April 23) functions was presented, and members were requested to assist in making those functions a success. Vocal items were rendered by Miss Bibby, Messrs. Marshall and Phipps, Miss Shaw acting as accompanist. At the close light refreshments were served and many new friendships made among those present from the old "Hogie” districts.
