Similar numbers were offered and the ox quality was only fair, values in this section being firm. More cows and heifers of better quality came forward but values generally tended to ease. Extra choice ox beef sold at 39/a 1001 b., choice and prime 34/- to 38/-, unfinished 28/- to 33/-, prime cow and heifer beef 30/- to 35/-, unfinished 22/to 29/-. A particularly large consignment of pigs included a good proportion of prime baconers, for which the demand was firm and prices were unaltered. Porkers eased by about 3/- a head and stores were also cheaper. Choppers macle £1 to £4 11/-; heavy baconers £4/2/- to £4/6/-; medium £3/17/- to £4; light £3/9/- to £3/14/; heavy porkers £2/14/- to £3/1/-; medium £2/5/- to £2/11/-; light £l/19/to £2/4/; small and unfinished £l/6/to £l/14/-; stores 18/ to £l/9/-; slips 10/- to £l/2/-; weaners 4/- to 12/--. Baconers averaged 6|d to 6Jd a lb., pork was 6d. to 6Jd.
