Dominion Special Service. Levin, March 23. The usual weekly stock sale was conducted at the Levin. yards yesterday. Abraham and Williams offered large yardings of pigs and cattle, together with a smaller entry of sheep than usual. The sale was brisk and practically a total clearance was made at full late rates, with the exception of prices for beef, which showed a slight easing due to oversupply. Idealisations were as follows: — Pigs: Light porkers, 31/- to 38/-, medium £2 to £2/10/-, heavy £2/12/6 to £2 15/-; baconers, £3 to £3/18/-; choppers, 30/- to £2/5/-; weaners, 5/- to 9/-; slips, 11/- to 15/-; stores, 17/6 to 20/-; sows and litters, £4. Sheep: Fat lambs, IS/- to 23/6; fat wethers, 25/-; forward ewes, 14/1; small b.f.f lambs, 8/- to 10/4; medium, 12/4 to 14/2. Cattle: Light fat cows, £3/12/- to £4, medium £4/5/- to £4/12/6, heavy £4/15/to £5/15/-,' prime heavy £6/10/- to £7 17/6; vealers, 30/- to 37/6, medium £2 to £2/10/-, heavy £3 to £4; store cows, 32/6 to £3/15/-; light potter bulls, £3/15/- to £4/9/-, heavy £7/2/6 to £B/12/6; heifers just calved, £4; springing cows, £4/10/-. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency offered good yardings of cattle and pigs, with a smaller entry of sheep. AU stock sold well at late rates. The price range was as follows: — Pigs: Light porkers 24/- to £2, heavy £2/5/- to £3; baconers £3/5/- to £3 15/-; slips, 3/6 to 8/-; stores, 18/- to 23/-. Sheep: Wether lambs 14/1 to 15/2; five-year ewes to 15/-. Cattle: Light fat cows £4 to £5, medium £5/5/- to £6/17/6; vealers £2 to £2 10/-; store cows, 30/- to £3/17/6; potter bulls £5 to £B.
