Dominion Special Service. Hastings, March 23. Prices showed a surprising recovery at to-day's Stortford Lodjte sale. There was a good offering of fat cattle, although it was for the most part mixed. Prices rose considerably to reach the peak rates of a fortnight ago. , Following are some of the realisations: — Heifers: Stud-bred extra prime shorthorn, £lO/2/6; account Clifton station, medium-grown Aberdeen-Angus, £9/10/-. Ox beef: Small.grown Hereford steer, £10; medium-grown Aberdeen Angus steers, £ll. Cow beef: Aberdeen Angus cross, with young calf at foot, £9/-10/-; dehorned shorthorn, £lO/5/--; Aberdeen Angus cross, £8; four mixed bred aged cows, £6 1.0/-; .two Aberdeen Angus shorthorn, £B/11/-; fine aged Aberdeen Angus, £7 15/-: account Clifton estate, four Aberdeen Angus, £9/17/-; four Aberdeen Angus cross, average of £lO/10/-; offering of similar breed animals, £10; pen of clean-bred Aberdeen Angus, £B/17/6. Vealers and runners: Two medium-grown, £3/8/-; single Hereford runner heifer, £4/10/-; twz, Aberdeen Angus cross runner steers, £5; three medium vealers, £2 10/-. Store cattle: Twenty-two Aberdeen Angus-Hereford cross steers, £9/6/-; account Tutira station, 10 Aberdeen Angus cross, calves at foot, £7/13/-; young mixed-bred bullocks, £9/9/-; 90 cleanbred 18-month Aberdeen Angus heifers, £5/5/-; 30 Aberdeen Angus-Hereford cross 18-month steers, £7/10/-; 30 wellgrown Aberdeen Angus 30-month steers, £B/5/-. Store sheep: 206 white-faced wether la tubs, 16/6; 175 ewe lambs, 21/6; 228 two-tooth wethers, account McCarthy Bros., Raupare, 23/10; 327 black-face lambs, amount G. H. Young and Sons, Tutira, 16/9; 129 two-tooth ewes, 20/3.
