Championship Positions The Petone Rifle Club fired a further competition counting for the club championships and other series competitions at Trentham on Saturday, the range for the day being 600 yards. Conditions for the mqjt part were fair, but a quick-changing wind required close attention, and for a short period during the rain the light was very dull. The club standard for this distance is 45, and this score was equalled or bettered on 16 occasions. The championship has now reached an interesting stage, and with only one shoot to cqunt (300 yards), the following are the’ leaders:—

A Grade: A. 11. O’Donnell 367, J. C. Carter 366, W. 11. Ballinger 365, T. McNab 355, W. M. Jackson 355. B Grade: F. W. Cropp 350, T. F. Cooper 342.

C Grade: W. C. Hogg 351, -S. Nicholl 342. The leaders in the Cup competition (B and C grades with handicaps, championship series) with one shoot to go are: W. F. Cropp 366, W. C. Ilogg 364, S. Nicholl 359, T. F. Cooper 359, E. F. Gilder’3sB.

Next Saturday the club will fire at 500 yards, the competition counting for the fourth handicap series, Burridge Cup and Longfield handicap aggregates.
