A GRADE CRICKET CHAMPIONSHIP
Protest By Todd Motors Upheld The protest of Todd Motors against Empire for refusing to bat a second time in their match three weeks ago was upheld at the fortnightly meeting of the Hutt Valley Cricket Association. As a result Todd’s average in the special A grade competition, decided on the average of runs scored per wicket, is now high.'r than that of Trafalgar Park, who were the leaders when the competition concluded last Saturday, and Todds take the championship. The committee felt that Empire had broken the rules by refusing to bat again when there was time, though the captain was under the impression his side did not have to do so in the special competition. Saturday’s Fixtures. Friendly games for Saturday are: — Taita A v. Taita B, at Nai Nai Reserve; Eastbourne A v. Eastbourne B, at Eastbourne; Gear United A v. Gear United B, at Randwick School; Trafalgar Park v. the management committee, at Trafalgar Park No. 1. Captains of teams engaged in these games are requested to telephone details to the association secretary, Mr. H. N. Jones, 60-427, before noon on Sunday.
