ARMAMENT SPEED-UP
Labour Shortage Problems To Be Discussed (Received March 22, 7.5 p.m.) London, March 22. The “Daily Mail” says a great armament speed-up is foreshadowed in Sir Thomas luskip’s invitation to 36 shipbuilding and engineering unions with a membership of half a million throughout the country to meet him on March 24 to discuss labour shortage’problems, which are understood to include the introduction of labour front other industries, the training of unskilled and semi-skilled workers and the relaxation of the apifrenticeship scheme. .
The Trades Union Congress will discuss these and similar issues at a special meeting to-day.
