Exhibition Of Canadian Paintings The exhibition of Canadian paintings from the National Art Gallery of Canada was officially opened at the National Art Gallery, Buckle Stret, last night by Mr. William Fredrick Bull, Canadian Government Trade Commissioner in New Zealand. There was a large atendance of persons interested in art, all of whom listened intently to Air. Bull’s remarks and who spent much time inspecting the pictures. Seated at the official table with Air. Bull during the opening ceremony were Air. D. A. Ewen, president of the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts, and Airs. Ewen (who was wearing a basqued frock of burgundy satin with gold lacquered design) ; the mayor of Wellington, Air. T. C. A. Hislop, who introduced Mr. Bull, and Mrs. Hislop (who was in black chiffon velvet with pale pink inset in the front of the skirt) ; Airs. Murray Fuller (whose I frock was of flamingo chiffon) ; Dr. Carbery, Mr. F. H. Bass and Mr. Eru Gore. n Later in the evening many of those present adjourned to the tea room, where supper was served.
