WEDDING

Smith—Cole The wedding was solemnised by the Rev. H. E. K. Fry at St. James’s Church, Lower Hutt, recently, of Rita Florence, daughter of Air. and Airs. H. P. Cole, and Edward, son of the late Air. and Airs. T. Smith. Plymouth, England. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a gown of magnolia satin with tiny buttons down the back and down the sleeves, which were peaked over the hands. The neck was cowled and the skirt was trained. Her heavily embroidered veil was mounted on a halo of orange blossom, and was worn over the face when entering the church and thrown back during the ceremony. Iler bouquet was of cream roses and stock and maidenhair fern, tied with cream ribbon streamers. The bridesmaid, Aliss Helen Voyee, wore a frock of blue cloque \vlth tiny buttons down the back and a wreath of flowers in her hair. Her bouquet was of pink roses and maidenhair fern. The little flower-girls, June and Shirley Letts, Otaki, wore patterned frocks of cjepe-de-chine in pink and blue shades, and wreaths of flowers in similar tones in their hair, and carried early Victorian posies. On leaving tlie church the bride was presented with a satiu horseshoe by her cousin, Joan AlcLeod. Air. George Wilde was best. man.

A reception, at which only relatives and close friends were present, took place at “Fyersal,” Bristol Square, the home of the bride’s parents. Her mother, Airs. Cole, wore a grey patterned french silk frock with a navy blue silk coat, and navy blue hat, gloves and shoes. Her frock was finished with a shoulder-spray of deep pink roses and maidenhair fern.

Airs. E. Smith travelled in a frock of blue floral silk with a blue coat and hat and accessories of the same shade.
