WANGANUI OLD GIRLS

First Re-Union Of Year Bowls of beautiful hydrangeas were used iu effective decoration of the Eng-lish-Speaking Union's room when the Wanganui Girls’ College Old Girls’ Association held their first reunion for this year. Aliss Ethel Law, national general secretary of the Y.W.C.A., who is an ex-mistress of the college, gave a talk on holidays she had spent in Canada, and was listened to with great interest. Aliss Hodder thanked Aliss Law on behalf of the old girls for her address, and a delightful bouquet of polyanthus roses, delphinium, and maidenhair fern was presented to her by the secretary.

Airs. Ashburn Chisolm, the president of the association, read two most interesting letters from Aliss Fraser and Aliss Cruieksliank, two former headmistresses of tbe college, the latter having just left for a trip to England. Airs. Chisolm, in saying farewell to Aliss Margery Barton, a very active member of the association, who will leave shortly for a trip to England and the Continent, presented her with a small gift and a spray of red roses. Supper was served, and a very successful meeting was brought to a clbpe with tbe singing of the school song and “Auld Lang Syne,” the accompaniments being played by Algdame BettsVincent. YET GRANT THEM HEALTH —Crabbe There’s no surer way of granting health and freedom from the common cold, than by keeping a supply of Baxters Lung Preserver in the house. For coughs, colds, sore throats, and bronchial ailments, “BAXTERS” is the best. The worse the cold—the more you need “Baxters” —the splendid cough remedy with tonic properties. 1/6, 2/6, and 4/6 at all chemists and stores. —Advt
