Popular Taranaki Fixture REVIEW OF PROSPECTS (By Carbine.) The annual meeting of the Opunake Racing Club will be the attraction to-day for Taranaki racegoers. It is a popular fixture, and the indications are that this afternoon’s racing will be a success in sense. The first race is timed for noon. Seven remain in the Opunake Cup, with Taitoru at the head. Taitoru appears to have lost some of his ability but against the opposition he will be meeting he might still give a good account of himself. He is engaged also in the Flying Handicap. Lady Kyra jpn well enough at recent Taranaki meetings to be given a first-class chance. Red Sand and Naughty Marietta will be well backed, and there might be a little support for Lickem. If Taitoru and Lady Kyra are reserved for the Cup, Clessamor and Notium will be in favour for the Flying, in which Race Call also will have friends. The other events have filled well and look very open. ■Well backed runners may be: — Putiki Hurdle Handicap: Booklaw. Maiden Race: Gold Glare, Golden Orchid, Trilitha.
