ASSEMBLY OPENED
Congregational Union By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, March 11. The annual assembly of the Congregational Union of New Zealand opened to-day, when about 100 delegates were present. A welcome tea was held to-night. Archdeacon Mac Murray, who welcomed the delegates on behalf of the Anglican Church, referred to the troubles of today, and stated they constituted a challenge to Christian people to come together. The president of the Auckland Council of Christian Congregations, Rev. Ferguson Fish, also addressed the meeting. He referred to the co-opera-tion among churches. A women’s missionary meeting was held this afternoon and a combined young people's demonstration was held to-night.
