ALL BLACKS’ TOUR
Proposed Itinerary Not Satisfactory AUSTRALIAN OBJECTION .(Received March 12, 12.5 a.in.j Sydney, March 11. The “Sydney -Morning Herald’s” Rugby reporter, commenting on the proposal by the New: Zealand Rugby 'Union that the All Blacks’ tour of Australia this season should begin with a match at Melbourne on July 16 and end with a match at Sydney on August 13. says it means that only five Saturdays will be available for the tour. lie adds that it is customary to have six Saturday matches, and it. appears as if Melbourne is to have one of the fixtures. Theye should be six Saturday matches, as it may make all the difference to the financial success or failure Of the tour. Tlie New South Wales Rugby Union, which acted on behalf of tha Australian State unions, planned’to have six Saturdays, If these are reduced to five, either Brisbane will have to lose one of two Saturdays, or Sydney one of three, leaving Melbourne with one. The programme desired by the New South Wales union could be. achieved if the New Zealand team delayed its departure from Australia’for a week.
