Mr. Alex. Juriss, of Dunedin, joined the staff of the Hutt court yesterday on transfer from Dunedin. Mr. L. A. Buchanan, who has been performing relieving duties at the Hutt court, commences duty to-day with the State Advances Department. Mrs. McClurg, Christchurch, is the guest of her son, Mr. D. W. Holloway’s resignation as assistant town clerk was received with regret by the Eastbourne Borough Council last night. The mayor, Mr. E. W. Wise, said the council had lost a capable officer. Tlie council recorded its appreciation of Mr. Holloway's services. He has been appointed town clerk at Taihape.
