4 “Big Shots” Behind Them? (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Auckland, November 12. When two men were sentenced at the Magistrate’s Court to-day to Imprisonment for sly grog-selling, counsel for one suggested that some of the men behind the sly grog shops were what were known in America as the “big shots.”John Sidney Cormack was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment, the police stating that he was last week fined £4O in respect of gaming charges arising out of a police raid in the city. James McAndrew was sentenced to seven days on a charge of sly grogselling. . Patricia Leckie, barmaid, charged with aiding and abetting the sale of sly grog, was fined £3.
