Sunday Broadcasts
Sir,—May I be permitted to express my views on the programmes broadcast from Station 2ZB? Let me say at the outset that I prefer this station to any other. I find the informality of the announcers pleasantly refreshing. and the programmes not only well planned generally, but put on in a most interesting manner.
I must protest, however, against the half-hour inflicted on us last evening. I refer to the five items rendered by a local band, together with the announcer's effort at advertising • this combination. In the light of the band’s performance, his eulogistic remarks rang hollow. Must we have advertising on Sunday evenings? If so, could we not'have good advertising? And could we not have good bands? —I am, etc., MUSIC. PLEASE. Wellington, September 27.
