PLUNKET SOCIETY
Coastal Towns Branch
The Pukerua Bay sub-branch of the Coastal Towns Plunket Society recently held its seventh annual meeting, which was very well attended. Mrs. C. Gray welcomed visitors from Wellington, Newlands, Johnsonville, Porirua, and Plimmerton. The report and balance-sheet were read and showed the work of the branch to be making rapid progress. Mrs. Jowett, president of the Wellington branch, and Mrs. Hassell, Porirua, congratulated Pukerua on its year's work.
The members of the committee presented Mrs. C. Grant with a beautiful nut-bowl made from New Zealand woods in appreciation of her many kindnesses during the year. Mrs. Lindsay was given a box of chocolates. The committee took the opportunity to place on record the services of Nurse Welch and to thank all those who had in any way helped to make the year a success. The resignation of Miss Steptoe was received with regret. Mrs. Jowett gave an interesting talk on the financial side of the Plunket Society. The following officers were elected: President, Mrs. C. Gray; honorary treasurer, Mrs. J. Scott; honorary secretary, Mrs. A. Lindsay; committee, Mesdames Adams, Cowie, Barlow, 1-I.arris, Allan, Lomax, Saxby, Ewan, Hargreaves, Symes, Walker, Petherick, and Miss Mullen.
