London Markets Quiet Lambs: Market firm for light weights, slow for heavy weights. Wethers: Market slow. Ewes: Market slow with easier tendency. Beef: Market firm on short supplies. Porkers: Market slow. Baeoners: Market steadier. Tallow: Market slow. The above report was received yesterday by Cathie, Dempster and Co., Ltd., Wellington, from their London principals, Sliced, Thomson and Co., Ltd., who quote current prices as follows:— Lambs: 2’s, 7d. to “id.; S's, Gjd. to 6 7-Bd.; 4’s, 6 3-Sd. to Gid.; seconds, Gfjd. to 7Jd. Wethers: I’s, 7's, 5 l-Bd. to 5Jd.; 3's, 9’s s‘w, 4|d. to 4 5-Sd. Ewes: l's, 7’s. 4Jd. to 4jd.; 3’s, 9's. s’s, 3Sd. to 4 LBd. Ox beef: Hinds. 4d. to 4 l-Bd.; fores, 3d. to 3 l-Bd. Cow hinds. 3 3-Bd. to 3 5-Bd.: fores. 2-Jd. to 2 5-Sd. Porkers. 6d. to-Gid. Baeoners, Gd. to G.}d. Tallow : Fine mutton, 30/-; sweet beef, 29/-; good mixed, 27/6. Henry S. Fitter and Sons, Ltd., have received the following report from their London office:—Lambs: There is a fair demand. Wethers: The market is fairly well’ supplied: moderate business has been done. Ewes: The market is quiet and unchanged. Chilled beef: Both demand and prices are steady. Pork : The market is firmer for heavyweights, lightweights remain steady. Trade generally is fair.
