RONALD COLMAN’S first film for

Solzniek International under his new contract will lie the talkie version of Anthony Hope’s celebrated bestseller, "The Prisoner of Zenda.” Mr. Colman will play the dual role of the King of the mythical kingdom and of Rupert Rassendyll, the commoner who usurps the throne. The only other east selections so far are C. Aubrey Smith for the part of Colonel Sapt ami David Niven for the role of Fritz von Tarlenheim. John Cromwell will direct the film, from the screen piny by Donald Ogdon Stewart, which in turn will be based on the adaptation by Leo Ririnski and Wells Root.

In addition to its success as a novel which, since its first publication in 1802, has been translated into many languages, and sold in virtually every country, the Anthony Hope romance has been successfully played over a number of years in the stage version by Edward Rose. London saw it ou three different occasions when it played at the St. James, the Lyceum and Hie Haymarket Theatres. Its only appearance on the-screen was in 1922, when Rex Ingram produced it. as a silent, picture with Ramon Novarro in the lending role.
