NEW AMBASSADOR TO WASHINGTON
Germany Makes Change
(Received March 24, 7.35 p.m.)
Washington, March 23.
The Secretary of State, Mr. Cordell Hull, has approved of Herr Hitler’s withdrawal of the German Ambassador to Washington, Herr Hans Luther, and the appointment of Herr Hans Dieckhoff.
It is believed that the change is not linked with the incidents in which the Mayor of New York, Mr. F. 11. La Guardia, criticised the German Chancellor.
