To-day's Recipe SAUSAGE IMPERIAL

Take lib. saugages, 3 streaky rashers bacon, 3 tomatoes, yolk of an egg, breadcrumbs, dripping, seasoning. Skin the sausages and divide the whole into six portions. Shape these into round cakes, with flattened tops. Brush them over with egg and coat them with breadcrumbs and fry them gently in the dripping until brown. Meanwhile, halve the tomatoes crosswise, sprinkle them with salt and pepper, and bake them lightly, being careful to prevent them breaking. Place half a tomato on each round of sausage and top it with a roll of bacon. To prepare the bacon rolls, remove the rind, halve the rashers crosswise, and roll up each piece. Stick them on a skewer and cook them in the oven, or under the grill until the fat is semi-transparent.
