ALL-DAY PARTY
Mrs. Hector Smith and Mrs. Ewen Troutbeek were joint hostesses at an all-day party at Koropiko, in aid of the Napier Plunkot Society. Tennis began in the morning, played against a background of such vivid garden colour that even the bright scarves and frocks of the players were dim by comparison. Inside the bouse, afternoon bridge was played in three of the cool downstairs rooms lit by the gay heads of scarlet guernsey lilies. The many guests, chatting in animated groups on the big lawn where the hostesses served afternoon tea, gave the grounds the appearance of a large and cheery garden party. From every point of view the day was a most successful one, the funds of the society benefiting in no small measure.
The lady superintendent of the Wellington Hospital wishes to acknowledge with thanks all gifts received during the past month.
