HOTEL LICENCES
Palmerston Committee Meets Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, September 14. Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., presided over the quarterly adjourned annual meeting of the Palmerston North Licensing Committee to-day. Others present were: Colonel J. H. Whyte, Mr. J. Hodgens, M.P., Mr. W. R. Birnie, and Mr. A. J. Graham Renewal of the licence held by E. A. Fearnley, of the Carlton Hotel, Palmerston North, was granted, this application having been held over from the annual meeting owing to objections being raised to an unauthorised doorway which had been made in one of the walls. This had now been filled in. An application to have the provision for stabling accommodation deleted from the terms of the Family Hotel licence was granted. The renewal of F. J. Colvin’s licence for the Masonic Hotel was also granted, the com mittee’s ruling that the fire-escapes be properly repaired having been carried into effect.
