RAILWAY DEVIATION
Preliminary Work at Fordell Dominion Special Service Wanganui, September 14. The Turakina-Okoia railway deviation is creating considerable interest in the district. It Js understood that a skeleton staff has been established at Fordell, and a special ghng of carpenters is expected there either this or next week; They will erect the various administration and accommodation buildings for stores and officials. Perhaps the most important part of the deviation is the boring of a tunnel about a mile long.
