Australia Anxious To Co-operate NEGOTIATIONS PROGRESS The extent to which negotiations have progressed between the Football Association (Loudon) and the New Zealand Football Association for an English tour to New’ Zealand in 1937, was disclosed at a meeting of the council of the latter body last evening. Provisional arrangements have already been made for the team to leave on the Chitral on April 20, and Australia is anxious to take four weeks of a nine weeks’ tour, the estimated cost to the Australian association being £1520. „ In reply to a cable from the New Zealand council asking if the suggested Australian matches met with their approval, the Football Association cabled agreeing to the Australian matches subject to there being no serious extension in time of the tour. Canterbury was granted permission to play a return match against a Westland senior representative team at Greymouth on September 19, and against a junior representative team for the Dewar Cup. CAMPBELL ROSE BOWL Players Selected to Train Mr. G. F. Aers, sole selector for the Wellington Football Association’s first A division teams, has ehosen 13 players to go into special training for the return match for the Frank Campbell Rose Bowl, at Blandford Park on Saturday week. They are as follows Turkington, Hatchard, R. Quirke (Marist), Haines, Leslie (Petone), McKenzie, Gendall (Seatoun), O’Leary, Nicol (Dia mpnds), Boyes (Institute), Miles (Hospital). Reid (Waterside), Healey (Lowei Hutt). These players are requested to be at the Basin Reserve at 8 o’clock next Wednesday night. Gendall, O’Leary and Miles were not included in last Saturday’s team, and Duffy (Marist) and Woods (Hospital; plpyed on Saturday, but have not been chosen again.
