Australian Women’s Hockey Team By Telegraph—Pretvs Association. Auckland, September 14. Bound for America to take part In the international tournament at Philadelphia, an Australian women’s hockey team is travelling by the Niagara. There are fourteen players, and Mrs. F. J. Davy is manager, with Misses M. Fox and A. C. Magarey as delegates to the conference at Philadelphia, which will discuss means of improving hockey in various countries. The team will also play in Canada. The tourists Were welcomed by officials of the Auckland Association and entertained at lunch. This afternoon they are playing an Auckland eleven. They will also meet a team in Fiji. The team is to return to Australia on December 14. In a friendly game against an Auckland team the Australians won by six goals to nil.
